Classic Rock Strumming

because of the tie, you must miss the strum on beat 3 - don't stop the strum motion.

Only include the top 3 or 4 strings on the the strums - use mostly wrist on this strum

  • Listen to the Rock Strum Examples carefully

  • First practice these Examples slowly without the metronome or practice tracks

  • Then try to play the Examples with the metronome set between 50 and 70

  • Try to play with the slow practice tracks then the fast practice tracks

  • Wait to play with the shuffle practice tracks until you have mastered the normal practice tracks


Classic Rock - Ringing Arpeggios

  • 2nd and 3rd fingers stay down through the whole exercise. Add 1st finger for Am, 4th finger for A11

  • Use either all downpicks or alternating picking. After mastering these, you can try a different picking pattern

  • Keep your right pinky finger down
