7th and 12th Position
Guitar Scale
Move to a higher position guitar scale to make your solo take
off!!
Once you feel comfortable with the open position E Blues
guitar scale, you will want to begin moving around the
guitar neck more. Learn, practice, and memorize these
7th and 12th position scale below. Then practice and memorize
the half and whole step bends from each scale.
ALWAYS
TUNE FIRST!
- 3rd finger can be used
on the 4th finger notes of the 12th
position scale. Also, if you have trouble bending
the 15th fret notes, try your 3rd
finger
Play and compare each half step bend to the next fret higher, play
and compare each whole step bend(Full) to two frets higher.

Check the pitch of half step bends by comparing to 1 fret
above (SEE
Half Step Bends), whole steps to 2 frets above

Follow fingerings carefully-It might be more comfortable
to use the 3rd finger on the 15th fret bends

Try making up some licks with the notes of the 7th position
or 12th position guitar scale
