Access Rock Review
This guy has chops! Eric has a firm hold on the fleet-fingered, instrumental-rock style epitomized by Joe Satriani and Allan Holdsworth during the eighties.
This album of twenty songs is a very eclectic mix of songs.. ranging from hard rock to smooth jazz. The riffs are catchy, and the guitar tones are both sweet and edgy.
My favorite track, "Tribute", is a high-powered rock instrumental infused with very cool guitar melodies. Eric's guitar solo is laced with frenetic runs which are sure to give you shivers down your spine! "Wings of Fire" is Hendrix inspired, but not so much that you feel like it's a Hendrix rip-off. "There Are No Words" is an L.A.- style smooth jazz tune featuring some really nice acoustic guitar work. It would be a perfect tune to put on during a summer afternoon party! This features another blistering guitar solo by Eric.
The Unstruck Melody is an album which is looking for direction, and at the same time has some really nice tracks which I would encourage the instrumental-rock fan to check out.
